General Review

 

Peter was an underpaid primary care physician working long hours in a hospital and not being appreciated for his outstanding work when he came to R.L. Stevens & Associates for a “lifestyle change”.  His goal was to find a career “that would make a positive impact in bringing better healthcare to minorities and would provide a fair compensation package for his family’s needs.”

 

Peter and his RLS consultant analyzed his medical abilities, interests, and long term future compared to the job requirements for physicians in a broad range of healthcare industries including physician groups, hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotech companies.   Together, they developed a positioning statement for each targeted company and an overall marketing plan of action.  His consultant provided him with key information and identified key decision makers to contact within those companies.

 

Using his RLS training, Peter obtained 10 interviews (mostly from unadvertised sources) and received 5 job offers.  After mock negotiation sessions with his consultant, Peter was able to effectively use competing offers as a wedge to negotiate a terrific compensation package…a salary of $180,000 per year (triple his old salary) and a guaranteed signing bonus of $25,000 per year for the first 3 years.
