Although Gary had a successful consulting career, more recently consulting opportunities were becoming harder to find. Therefore, business was dropping off. Gary decided to seek another executive management position in a more stable corporate environment, with an annual salary of $150,000 or better. Gary’s consultant worked closely with him on negotiating. Gary finally accepted his new position as Senior Vice President, with $30,000 more per year in base salary alone.
